citizen cope

I went to a Citizen Cope concert thurs February 26,2009. The show was all the way in Savannah which was about 3 hours away from where I go to school. i was so determined to go. My sister just got a car that past saturday from an auction and it needed alot of stuff fixed to it. We spent 5 days getting the car fixed and in good condition to be able to ride to savannah. I also bought a GPS just in case we got lost. lol days before the concert I listened to citizen cope constantly to get a feel for songs i didnt know. I was real excited because there might have been a chance that Alice was going to be there and and perform and maybe i would get to meet her and cope.

so the day of the concert had finally come. it seem liked forever! we left around 5pm. and we set the GPS and we were on our way. we drank monster energy drinks as well just to stay up on the drive back. 3 hours later we get to the theater at 8:30ish. I called Rufus(Alice Smith Cousin) whom provided me and my sister with the tickets and let him know that we were outside. I knew how he looked lbut i had no idea how TALL he was! like wow. im 5′8 and i felt like a little person. I guess it runs in their family, alice is quite tall im sure. we went inside and he told me that he was going backstage. i couldnt wait to get in first cuz we had to pee so bad cuz of the energy drinks we had before. lol. and As i was going to the bathroom I heard citizen cope singing “friendly fire” one of my fav songs. it just amp me up more to get the hell in the show. i didnt want to miss nothing. our tickets seats were way in the back and i realized that I couldnt see really. So i walked all the way to the very front. the majority of the crowd was white. but i did see about two other black people jammin as well. lol
So there’s citizen cope standing at the mic with his acoustic guitar singing “holdin on” another of my favs. and I realized that it’s just so much better live. i also realized that citizen cope is kinda good-lookin. i couldnt see it before but to see him in person it made a difference. :-D anyways Ive watched youtube vids of his performances but it doesnt compare to actually being there. i took alot of pictures and recorded almost every song. Rufus was in the front as well with me and i asked if alice was there. He said “no she couldnt make it, she was in the studio recording” he told her i was coming and she said she was sorry and that she will def try next time. I was alittle sadden but it was okay cuz i know that it will eventually come the day when i meet her. As the concert was still going, my sister was loving the music, when i let her listen to him before she wasnt fond of him, but once she saw him live almost every song she was jammin to. we both had a great time. After too encore performances the show was over. I called Rufus because i wanted to get a chance to meet Cope and i had trouble hearing what he was saying but he said that he was helping them pack up. And I thought that i wouldnt get my chance to meet him and on top of that my sister was ready to go she was feeling the “Crash” effect of that energy drink and felt tired. So after trying a few times callin rufus i couldnt get through. so we left. the day after the concert i talked to Rufus on facebook and he said that he wish i would have stayed around a lil longer i would have gotten a chance to meet cope. I was like DAMN! i missed my chance. but i knew there will be another time for that. plus He told me that c.cope is having a show in Manchester TN. A Bonnaroo Festival and Cope def will try to get alice to come with him. Im thinkin about going to that show in TN. i have to start saving up tho. I cant wait til alice releases her new album which might come out in the summer. I already got one song called “Far Away” the studio recorded version. it reminds me of Love endeavor but with more upbeats. I love it!!

goodness i wrote alot. lol
